Coaching is a partnership between a coach and the coachee(s). Even though there are roles between a coaching partnership, the responsibility lies equally on both sides. Trust, safety and presence must be created by both sides.

A coach needs to be the guide in this process of creating trust-safety- presence if necessary explain it to the coachee by being open, emphatic and vulnerable. This process needs to be managed constantly because any shift during the conversation can bring changes in the meeting space.

In my Mentor programmes I pay a lot of attention to the cultural competency and how it relates to the coach core competencies.
